The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Eritrea has risen to 992 after the Red Sea nation recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19 within a 24 hours period, the Eritrea Ministry of Health (MoH) reported on Saturday.
In a press statement, MoH said the 41 new COVID-19 cases were diagnosed from tests carried out on patients from across the country including in the Eritrean capital, Asmara.
The statement further said the total number of recovered patients to date stands at 600.
Eritrea has so far recorded only one COVID-19 related death. The Red Sea nation confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 21.
