What is COVAX?
COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX), is a worldwide initiative co-led by GAVI (the Vaccine Alliance), the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and the WHO alongside key delivery partner (UNICEF). Its aim is to coordinate international resources to enable low-to-middle-income countries equitable access to COVID-19 tests, therapies & vaccines.
As of today July 6th, Eritrea is one of the two African countries to reject COVAX’s offer.
#AllowCOVAXforEritrea is a campaign initiated by the Eritrean Research for Policy and Strategy (ERIPS) to advocate for vaccine access and pressure the government of Eritrea to work with the COVAX program to vaccinate Eritreans.
