Dear Eritrean colleague,
On behalf of the Eritrean Research Institute for Policy and Strategy (ERIPS), we cordially invite you to participate in the institute’s first Eritrean Scholars and Professionals Workshop that will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Catholic University, Washington DC.
This workshop will convene Eritreans and friends to discuss current challenges in Eritrea and the rapidly changing situation in the Horn of Africa with emphasis on pinpointing the course of action that can be taken to effect positive change. Given the fluidity of the situation in our region and the difficulties involved in providing clear directions to our people, this workshop could not have come at a better time. Your presence at this event will be highly valuable and we have no doubt that your contributions will help the efforts that are geared towards transitioning Eritrea to democracy and our region to peace, security and stability.
This workshop will also create an opportunity for Eritrean professionals to network and develop a working relationship. In addition, organizers of this event are working hard to have an amazing lineup of speakers, some of whom include distinguished scholars from Eritrea and neighboring countries as well as representatives from US Congress, Department of State and human rights organizations.
We would be honored to have you join us in-person at this event and share your perspective on the critical topics we plan to discuss. Since considerable time of the workshop is allotted to roundtable discussions, we are confident that the event will be very interactive and engaging.
